October is National Chiropractic Health Month!
The Beverly Hills Comprehensive Medical Group is celebrating National Chiropractic Health Month.
What is chiropractic treatment?
Chiropractic is a form of medicine that provides diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. Chiropractic treatment technique encompasses manual therapy, especially manipulation of the spine, other joints, and soft tissues. Treatment may include physical rehabilitation exercises, and counseling on occupational and lifestyle modification to achieve and maintain optimal health.
What do Doctors of Chiropractic do?
Doctors of Chiropractic treat patients of all ages, and have expertise in treating a variety of conditions- neck pain, back pain and pain in the extremities using manual manipulations or chiropractic adjustments. Chiropractors also care for patients with different kinds of injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system involving the ligaments, muscles, and joints.
What happens during a chiropractic adjustment?
Chiropractors manually manipulate the body to enhance or restore joint function. This may resolve joint inflammation and reduces pain caused by the spine or limbs being misaligned. Chiropractic manipulation is a highly skilled procedure that rarely causes discomfort. The manipulations are tailored to accommodate the specific needs of each patient. Patients may notice positive changes in their symptoms immediately after treatment, but depending on the condition, several visits may be recommended.
