4 Tips to Lose Weight during the Holidays

weight loss during the holidaysBetween holiday party buffets, flutes of sparkling bubbly and big family dinners, holiday weight gain may seem inevitable. It can be easy to add on a few pounds during the holiday season, but with a good nutritional plan and team of weight loss experts by your side, you don’t have to gain weight during the holidays; in fact, you can even lose weight!

Follow Our Tips to Lose Weight This Holiday Season

#1: Eat a light meal before you go out.

Holiday party buffets are packed with high-fat, high-calories foods like cheese spreads, dips and cured meats. Mindlessly snacking on these foods with chatting with partygoers is a sure way to gain weight. Don’t go to a party hungry; eat a light meal that’s high in protein and fiber so you’ll feel full throughout the party. Once you arrive, skip the cheesy dips and meats and fill your plate with fruits and veggies.

#2: Go light on the alcoholic drinks.

It wouldn’t be New Year’s without a glass of champagne, but there’s no reason you need to have multiple glasses. Alternate alcoholic drinks with water. You’ll stay hydrated, reduce the risk for a painful hangover, and avoid empty calories. Or avoid alcohol altogether and ask the bartender for a glass of soda water with a splash of lime.

#3: Don’t abandon your gym routine.

Between end-of-the-year work demands and the hectic holiday season, it’s tempting to skip your regular workouts. You need these workouts to stay on track for weight loss. If you are struggling to fit your in gym time, schedule outdoor activities with family and friends instead. A Runyon Canyon hike or even ice skating is a fun way to spend the holidays, get in your daily exercise and help keep off the pounds.

He said, Do them or you will come back here with worse...and guess what? I am too embarrassed to go back! But still will, I think..."
